![]() ![]() I've included screenshots to show what I'm talking about (for some reason, I couldn't insert more than two screenshots, so I haven't included screenshots for the external drive). I'm not sure why, but I think that both devices are actually being recognized by the computer as USB 2.0 devices, since the hub (listed as 'USB2.0 Hub') and the adapter (listed as 'AX88179') both have speeds of 'Up to 480 Mb/sec.' Since they're USB 3.0 devices, shouldn't the speed be 5Gb/sec (and shouldn't the hub be listed as 'USB3.0 Hub')? For comparison, both of my Western Digital 1TB USB 3.0 external drives have speeds of 'Up to 5Gb/sec' when connected directly to the computer (though, when connected via the hub, the speed drops down to 'Up to 480Mb/sec'). I was just now re-installing the driver software for ethernet adapter, and I went to System Information to check if it installed correctly. A couple of months later, I also got a Ugreen USB 3.0-to-ethernet adapter (). ![]() Around a year and a half ago, I got an Insignia USB 3.0 hub (, I think). ![]()
